Harwich High School grad shaping his passion for surfing
[...] A year into Ride Anything INC., Knowles, along with his co-founder and girlfriend Scotti Shafer, have already generated enthusiasm about Ride Anything, and what it’s all about.
“We’re constantly developing design ideas that are out-of-the-box, and that’s what we’re after. Most of the fun of shaping and designing is coming up with those unique ideas that few have tried yet.”
With a wide variety of board sizes, shapes and characteristics available to his customers, Knowles continues to research and test new designs and ideas.
With everything from high-performance shortboards, to an asymmetrical shape or classic long-boards, Ride Anything has something available for most surfers and surf styles.

Ode to Surf
While herein words I cannot put
Nor in frame may cameras capture
Those hallowed waves through which we slip
And ride this life of rapture.
To be or not
The state of me
Rests on a vexing question.
Were not I dealt this salty deck
“Not to be” leads in which misdirection?
Yet here we are
While lost are thee
If not aboard and riding free
For we may fleeting lines convey
The pulse which guides a surfer’s way.
Winching on Anything

Check out Josh Sleigh & crew winching Carlsbad/Oceanside. Featuring Charley Stevens ripping on his colorful new RA Smidget (aka “The Naked Alien”)!
Not a bad way to get ripped (into waves that is). 200yds of line + gas powered winch + 2 foot wind chop = a fun way to end the day. Wonder when they’ll come out with one that runs on veggie oil? My guess is they’re outlawed first.
Surfboard Recycling in San Diego

Is Your Surf Stick Flacid? Repair, Reride, Recycle!
We’re obviously advocates of riding ANYTHING; new, old, fresh or all dinged up, but eventually you’re forced to make “end of life” decisions for your trusty old boards. When that time comes, why not seek greener pastures for your board? Find ways to recycle your used, broken, or unwanted surfboards like dropping them off at a local recycling center. San Diego allows you to do this at Miramar Recycling Center without a fee. Usable boards will be donated, and the rest are ground up and used in concrete. You can also donate used boards to ReRip, a local company that provides used boards to local artists. The ReRip Board drop off is at the Patagonia Shop in Cardiff (2185 San Elijo Ave). We’ll continue to post ideas and resources that will help increase your boards’ lifespan and give you options for surfboard recycling and we encourage you to post any ideas you might have here.
